  The only reason I am giving this "salon" one star is because there are no options for 0 stars. DO NOT BUY A GROUPON WITH MICHELLE NELSON!!!!
  I had purchased a Groupon for a cut, color and highlights with Michelle at the beginning of September and booked and appointment for two weeks later. Everything was set and confirmed to go. The day of my appointment I ended up having to take my child to the Er and ended up missing my appointment. The last thing on my mind was "Oh I should call and cancel my hair appt while simultaneously making sure my child is ok in the hospital". Fast forward to a week later: I went online and re-booked my appt with Michelle for today (10/1/13) at 10 am. I arrived at the salon at 5 till 10 this morning and the lights were off and no one was inside. I waited another 5 minutes and then called the number listed on Groupons site, which was the owner, Art's number. He answered and I explained I was there for an appointment with Michelle but no one was at the salon. He said that Michelle wasn't feeling good on Saturday but that she had her own key to the shop and to give her the benefit of the doubt and wait for another 10 minutes or so. He also said he would try to get a hold of her and gave me her number to try to call her myself as well. I tried calling her, and by the sound of the ring, I knew she was on the other line with him because she didn't answer. She called me back about 5 minutes later and I told her who I was and that I had an appt with her. Right away VERY RUDELY she said " I cancelled your appt because you did not show up for your last appt". I told her why (ER visit) and I was sorry that I didn't make it but that I had rescheduled for today and was here waiting for her like my confirmation email said. She said it did not matter, that she has a 24 hour cancellation notice and she would not be showing up for the appt. I said "how was I supposed to give you 24 hours notice when I was at the hospital THAT DAY?" Its not like I knew I would have to take my son the day before!!! It did not matter to her. She was EXTREMELY RUDE about the fact that I had missed my previous appt. Then I asked " Why didn't you at least let me know you were not going to show up or call to cancel my appt" and she responded with "Well Im letting you know now." WTF?!! I hung up with her and immediately called the owner, Art, again and repeated the conversation I had with Michelle. He told me that "if she chooses to conduct herself like that she is going to loose business and clients and I apologize for what happened and Im sure now you wouldn't want her working on your hair after all" ....it pretty bad when your boss doesn't seem to surprised about complaints about your behavior or attitude and professionalism. Although he was nice enough he said "what do you want me to do about it?" and I told him, its your shop, I want a refund because I paid for a service I didn't even receive. He said that although its his shop, Michelle rents out space from him and handles her own clients and Groupons. I found out that she had marked my Groupon as USED, which means she collected the monies from it without even cutting or coloring my hair!!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!! So I contacted Groupon and let them know I expect a full refund from this pathetic stylist!!! I have read reviews of Art hair studio and although most of them are positive, and I do believe there are great stylists who work there, most of the reviews about Michelle Nelson were negative and unflattering!! I should have done my research before choosing to buy a Groupon with her!!! Thank God she did not touch my hair because if her styling skills are anything like her attitude and immaturity then she will have a hard time staying in business for much longer!! STAY AWAY!!!
